Supply Chain Lead

BAE Systems, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Supply Chain Principal to join their Maritime Services business unit in Portsmouth. This is a contract role with hybrid working arrangements available for a duration of 12 months. The role requires handling various supply chain activities related to warship support, ensuring efficient and timely operations. Key Responsibilities: Updating product information records, including export control status Generating Initial Provisioning Spares (IP) Request for Quotations (RFQs) Managing RFQs and purchase orders for ship training requirements Conducting RFQ check meetings with suppliers and project team clarifications Placing and managing IP spares and other purchase orders Expediting and reviewing supplier delivery paperwork, including delivery notes, transport information, and invoicing Ensuring timely delivery of goods Managing the delivery process with third-party warehouse services (Wincanton) Liaising with the logistics team on delivery and product returns processes Engaging face-to-face with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to meet project requirements Adapting work schedules according to supplier locations and project needs Job Requirements: Experience in supply chain management Strong organisational and communication skills Ability to handle complex supply chain tasks and meet deadlines Familiarity with managing and processing RFQs and purchase orders Competence in collaborating with logistics and third-party warehouse teams Benefits: Opportunity to contribute to critical defence projects Hybrid working arrangements Professional development and growth potential Collaborative and dynamic work environment If you are an experienced supply chain professional seeking a challenging role in the defence sector, we would love to hear from you.
