Shunter - Rolling Stock

I am currently looking for a Shunter to work in the rolling stock industry in the area of Long Marsden. In this role the successful candidate will start on a non-competent rate and then after about 6 weeks will move onto a competent rate once they have been fully trained. Therefore, rolling stock experience is not essential but due to the nature of the role candidates would preferably come from a background where they have had exposure to dealing with large vehicles however other experience and skill sets will be considered. Job title: Shunter Job location: Long Marsden Rates: £29,000 per annum (non-competent rate) £32,500 per annum (competent rate) Shifts: Mon - Fri days Duration: Permanent role Start date: ASAP Position Summary: To be responsible for the safe movement of trains, facilitation of the storage of customers fleet and provide light maintenance associated with the stored fleet Responsibilities: * Ensure safety of all movements of moving rail vehicles in and out of the Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre * To provide light maintenance activities associated with the storage of vehicles as directed by the Operations Manager * Observe and adhere to site procedures and all aspects of Health & Safety at all times, in particular those procedures around the movement of fleet around the site and track * Conduct daily checks of the stored fleet and report any defects and / or damage * To support the movement of assets around the site on behalf of customers and tenants * To provide light maintenance as required on assets as directed by the Operations Manager * Complete associated documentation in respect of the laid down processes and procedures on site * Carry out shunting duties in line with the defined procures in a safe and controlled manner and any relevant maintenance and safety checks required by the shunters * Ensure all working areas are kept in a clean and safe condition Qualifications/Skills: * GCSE in English and Maths is required * Competent in fort lift truck operation and crane operations * Must have driving licence for motor vehicles IF YOU WISH TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE PLEASE CAN YOU SEND A COPY OF YOUR CV TOGETHER WITH YOUR PASSPORT or ID.
