Your Opportunity: Reporting to the Director of Red Deer Adult Addiction and Mental Health (AMH), the Manager will provide daily, direct inspired leadership and operational management for the Psychiatric Crisis Response Team, and the AMH Allied Health team at Red Deer Regional Hospital. This interdisciplinary team includes Mental Health Therapists, Nurses, Addiction Counsellors, Social Workers, Recreation Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and Psychologist. Key activities of the Manager position include recruitment, orientation & training, and ensuring clinical practice provides effective care of individuals needing prompt, compassionate, and appropriate services aligned to the vision and mandate of AHS. This position will collaborate closely with the Manager(s) and staffing groups in both the emergency department and with the Psychiatric Emergency Support (PES) program. Working together with these teams to support patient flow will be critical to the ongoing implementation and success of this work. Leading AMH quality improvement initiatives and taking part in upcoming project work will also be a priority. Please note additional program responsibilities and oversight will be added to this Manager portfolio in the future. Description: Applying best evidence informed practice and using a continuous quality improvement approach, the Manager will ensure that services delivered by the team(s) meet the needs of service users and stakeholders. This role is responsible to coach team members to achieve comprehensive and integrated care planning, promote the development of clinical practice quality improvements, implement evidence-based practice, and critically assess, evaluate, anticipate, and address risks to patient and staff safety. This role leads the implementation of provincial, zone and local clinical and operational priorities and initiatives. The Manager will have an active relationship with physicians, service users and other invested parties to continually gauge the quality of services provided and to facilitate seamless and continuous care. The Manager is expected to recruit highly skilled and committed staff, as well as oversee the daily operations of the AMH program - including the practical, financial, and complex clinical aspects of the services. This position is a key member of the Red Deer Adult AMH leadership group and works collaboratively with the larger Central Zone leadership enter information in this field. Required Qualifications: Additional Required Qualifications: Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources within an operating environment. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within an organization and ideally managing within a unionized sector. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to plan, organize and manage short- and long-term plans and projects and deliver patient-focused results. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care is an asset.
