Summary Statement
Under the supervision of the General Manager, the Sales Manager has overall responsibility for meeting or exceeding the annual business plan forecast for vehicle sales, including leadership of a high performing sales team.
The Sales Manager will act as a member of the Automotive Groups Leadership Team, who steer the overall business plan strategy for the Dealership.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, the Sales Manager will posses the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.
Education
• Completion of high school diploma or vocational equivalent
• University degree or college diploma in business administration is considered an asset
Knowledge
• A minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in a sales role in vehicle retail sales including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role
• Proficient with the following computer environments: Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Dealer Connect and various internet browsers
Additionally considered an asset, Dealer Socket, Dealer Pilot HR, V-Auto, SERTI, Dealer Track, and Route One

Accountabilities
New/Used Vehicle Sales
• Desk deals/secure locates/order vehicles according to OEM process
• Appraise trades
• Accurately measure traffic along with managing sales step KPI’s such as appointments made, appointments kept, be-back %, demo %, service walk %, worksheet %, and closing ratio
• Manage digital lead performance
• Ensure vehicles sales departments actions align with the company mission statement
• Ensure the annual business plan forecast (departmental volume & gross profit) is met or exceeded
New/Used Vehicle Salespeople Leadership
• Recruit, build and nurture high performing sales team members
• Build appropriate work schedules for vehicle sales team
• Coaching and training of all vehicle sales reps including daily one on ones
• Manage CRM (Dealer Socket) processes and data
• Maintain a tidy and organized lot
• Responsible for health and safety policy adherence within their department and throughout the dealership
Financial Statement Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed Annual Sales Business Plan o Growth: Sales Volume to Target, Gross Averages (front and back)
o Expense Control: Commissions, Policy, Advertising, Floor plan
• Maintain Customer Experience(CX) KPI’s at set objective or above
Decision Making Authority
• Collaborate with General Manager to make final decisions on departmental goals and objectives
• Responsible for the day-to-day operational decisions
• Responsible for determining the priority of tasks within the scope of the position
