BMS Project Engineer – Dorset - £55,000 A superb opportunity has just presented itself with a BMS engineering and consultancy company. They are looking to take on a Project and Energy Management Engineer. About the company The company assist their clients by reducing energy use and integrating low carbon technologies into their building services. Most of the work is based around Hampshire and Dorset.  The BMS Project Engineer position In this role, you will be working with BMS installers and Services engineers to achieve high quality and effective BMS refurbishments of many of the existing BMS systems, many of which are life expired.  The work is very rewarding and has the scope to have a significant amount of positive environmental impact.  This role would suit someone local to Dorset or Hampshire. This role is open to individuals coming in from the Building Services or BMS sector and is looking to step up to the next professional level. Full training, coaching and mentoring in the skills required to operate at this level will be provided. If you are looking for a satisfying and varied energy and project management role where you will be managing the refurbishment of BMS systems across a number of hospitals and sites along the South Coast of England, then this is the role for you. Main responsibilities Carrying out surveys of existing BMS installations under the guidance of the director. Assisting with the consultancy efforts with roles such as gathering an understanding of users’ perceptions of the control of the internal environment within buildings and their priorities such as control of energy use and costs. This will also involve obtaining policy and strategy documents from organisations to understand the background against which our work will be set. There will also be more routine tasks such as photographing building services plant and buildings and cataloguing the results. Proof reading reports and the organisation of appendices and formatting. The engineering of graphical interfaces for everyday users within the Niagara engineering framework. Full Niagara N4 training, leading to N4 Certification, on this will be given as well as instruction by our engineers. If necessary, you will also be taught about heating and ventilation plant and how to represent it within a graphical interface so that an everyday user can understand its operation. Assisting with the networking requirements for the new BMS and full training will be given on this. The analysis of the energy performance of the BMS. To achieve this, you will use analytics tools available through Niagara and developed by the company. You will use energy consumption data to analyse energy performance and target improvements. You will be given a full understanding of metering arrangements for heat, gas and electricity and how to analyse this data. The preparation of quotations for company products and consultancy services and the understanding of customers’ requirements. Again, full training on the systems they work with will be provided. Skills required Previous experience with Building Services and Building Management Systems.
