Hire Controller Cheshunt Hours: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm Saturdays Salary: Starting at £24,000 up to £26,000 per year, dependent on experience About the Company: Our client is a leading plant and tool hire company, providing a comprehensive range of equipment and services to customers across the uk. Role Overview: We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Hire Controller. The Hire Controller will be responsible for managing the rental of equipment and tools to customers, ensuring efficient operation of the hire desk, and providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities: Receive and process hire orders from customers via phone, email, or in-person inquiries. Assist customers in selecting the appropriate equipment or tools for their needs, providing expert advice and recommendations. Coordinate the delivery and collection of equipment, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders. Maintain accurate records of equipment availability, bookings, and returns using the company's software systems. Handle customer queries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction. Prepare rental agreements, invoices, and other documentation related to hire transactions. Conduct regular checks and inspections of equipment to ensure it meets safety standards and is in good working condition. Collaborate with colleagues in the workshop and logistics departments to optimize equipment availability and maintenance schedules. Assist with stock management tasks, including inventory counts, replenishment, and maintenance of the hire fleet. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, at all times. Requirements: Previous experience in a similar role within the plant and tool hire industry is preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficiency in computer systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office and hire management software. Knowledge of plant and tool equipment, including familiarity with different types of machinery and tools, is advantageous. Flexibility to work occasional overtime and Saturdays as required.
