Electronics Technician

Our client specialises in the design, development and manufacture of handheld testing products and are looking to recruit an Electronics Technician to join their long-established family run business based in Basildon. Ideally you will have some "hands on" experience in the manufacture of electronic products to act as the link between R&D and workshop. Duties: The Electronics Technician will produce and test electronic parts and sub-assemblies including PCB Assembly requiring soldering and crimping to IPC standards Testing using electronic test equipment such as scopes and multi-meters Complete final assembly of systems Create new and update build instructions to latest specification Perform calibration, final test and documentation Repair of electronic systems to component level Work from drawings, schematics, electronic assembly equipment and verbal/written instructions to assemble, repair, modify, rework or re-assemble units. Carry out tasks that are repetitive in nature with the ability to recognise non-conformity Provide technical support in house and to customers Skills & Qualifications BTEC level qualification in Electronic Engineering or higher is a must Some experience in Surface mount soldering with knowledge of analogue and digital circuits preferable Knowledge of PCB electronic component fault diagnosis techniques down to component level desirable Crimping, soldering and rework skills Must have good written and verbal communication skills with a basic understanding of IT and an interest in developing these skills Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a methodical way and be willing to lend a hand with other duties Benefits: £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience 28 days holiday including bank holidays 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (flexible hours working between 8am and 6pm) Company performance bonus scheme Company pension scheme Opportunity for progression within the company Candidates who require sponsorship now or in the future are not eligible to apply for this vacancy.
