We are recruiting a Site Manager on behalf of our client on a £17 million Distribution Unit (Warehouse) in Basingstoke. The Site Manager will oversee the daily operations on the construction site of a £17 million warehouse project in Basingstoke, ensuring that the project is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities * Site Management: * Oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards. * Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and site staff, ensuring all work is carried out according to project plans and schedules. * Ensure that the construction site is safe, clean, and orderly. * Project Coordination: * Liaise with the Project Manager to understand project details, timelines, and budget constraints. * Communicate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve on-site issues. * Schedule and conduct regular site meetings with project stakeholders. * Quality Control: * Monitor construction progress and conduct regular inspections to ensure quality standards are met. * Implement and enforce quality control procedures and safety regulations. * Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner. * Documentation and Reporting: * Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, safety reports, and progress reports. * Report on project status, including progress, delays, and any deviations from the plan, to the Project Manager. * Ensure that all documentation is compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements. * Health and Safety: * Promote and enforce health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. * Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, and implement corrective actions as necessary. * Provide safety training and guidance to site personnel. Required Skills and Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not essential). Relevant professional certifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS card). Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction site management, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects. Experience in warehouse or industrial building projects is highly desirable. Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Thorough understanding of construction processes, quality standards, and safety regulations. Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.
