SEN TA/ Graduate SEN TA - Kingston

Crete education are currently recruiting for an SEN school in Sunbury on Thames. (Graduates are encouraged to apply). They are a school for pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties in addition to complex needs including Anxiety, ASD, ADHD, Toxic childhood stress, attachment difficulties and developmental trauma or delay. They are a growing SEMH School that are passionate about helping children to succeed despite their previous challenges.

The successful candidate will have a desire to make a difference and a genuine passion for working with children with SEN. The role will include participating in pupils’ behaviour programs and being aware if their individual education plan and their individual behaviour support plan. Dealing with unexpected situations will not be uncommon and therefore the role takes an individual that is up for a challenge. Within the classroom the role will include supporting the teacher in managing pupil behaviour and supporting the students with tasks and personal needs.

  • Supervising and supporting pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning
  • Establishing a good relationship with pupil and acting as a role model.
  • Encouraging interaction with classroom activities and other pupils.
  • Attending to students personal needs whilst also supporting them in relation to nation learning.
Person specification - SEN TA/ Graduate SEN TA – Kingston
  • Experience working with pupils with SEN or a recent graduate in particular psychology, criminology and sociology
  • Able to deal with challenging behaviour and always up for a challenge
  • Enthusiastic and hard working with the ability to work well in a team
  • Passionate about helping children succeed
  • Ability to make pupils feel safe and secure
