They are looking for a Health Practitioner to join their ever-growing Safeguarding department. This is a temp role for 12 months term time only – wage £36,406 (pro rata £31,225) About the role A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Practitioner to work within the Safeguarding and Student Support Team. The role of a Health Practitioner is to provide a professional and a pro-active health advisory service to all students and to provide advice and guidance relating to specific student health issues to relevant staff. This role involves delivering first aid, offering advice and guidance on physical health matters, and conducting risk assessments related to health. As Health Practitioner you will work alongside members of teams cross the business and external stakeholders to promote physical health for all our students. The key fundamental to this role is to promote Health and Wellbeing of all learners across our group. You will plan and deliver a monthly Health Promotion Programme, tailored to address known relevant health issues, e.g. sexual health, healthy lifestyles, smoking etc. liaising with the Student Support Services and Marketing teams to maximise learner engagement with their programme. This is a truly rewarding role, which you can make your own through developing new initiatives and procedures to ensure all of our learners are happy and healthy whilst studying with us to be the most successful they can be. Main Duties * To listening non-judgementally to what the person is saying or feeling. * Encouraging the person to seek appropriate treatment. * Administer immediate and appropriate first aid to learners and staff as needed. * To ensure the safe storage, handling and disposal of all medical supplies held within * the College. * Identify if and when a student is a risk to self or others and take reasonable actions. * Keep coherent records of all activity in line with service protocols and use these * records and outcome data to inform decision making. * Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to college policies and * procedures and any regulating body, and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health (e.g. NHS, National * Institute for Clinical Excellence). * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and * procedures in relation to Mental Health and Primary Care Services * To work with the Safeguarding Team to support with identifying and dealing with * safeguarding concerns. * Deliver sessions to groups of staff and students on stress management, emotional * wellbeing and related issues. * Liaise with external agencies and refer students as appropriate * To work in line with Health and Safety guidelines of the college
