If you’re looking for a role where you can grow and be part of a dynamic and motivated team, this could be the perfect fit for you!Why You’ll Love This Role: Immediate Impact: Play a crucial role in shaping the company’s HR strategy and making an impact right from the start.Employer Branding: Help build and enhance the company's employer brand, establishing it as a top workplace in the energy sector.Employee Experience: Ensure the employee experience is best in class, making a difference in the day-to-day lives of the workforce.Leadership Development: Be part of a company that values positive leadership and provides opportunities for leadership growth.Innovative Environment: Work in a forward-thinking and responsible company that embraces innovation and empowers its employees.Supportive Culture: Join a team that believes in supporting their people and fostering a culture where everyone can thrive.Dynamic Team: Be part of a dynamic and motivated team that values collaboration and collective success.Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & Onboarding: Oversee the fractional HR firm that is delivering the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new employees.Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment by positively addressing employee concerns, coaching line managers on resolving conflicts directly when possible, and stepping in to assist where necessary.Policy Development: Utilizing support from the fractional HR firm, develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with the company culture and goals.Compensation & Benefits: Administer employee compensation, benefits, and performance management programs.Training & Development: Identify training needs and create development programs that support employee career growth.Compliance: Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations in Canada and the US.HR Administration: Update and develop systems to manage employee records, HR systems, and HR-related documentation.Culture & Engagement: Promote a strong company culture through team-building activities, employee engagement initiatives, and recognition programs.Strategic Planning: Partner with leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives and contribute to strategic planning.QualificationsExperience: Minimum 5 years of experience in an HR generalist or similar role, preferably in a startup environment.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.HR Knowledge: Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations in Canada and the US.Business Acumen: Strong business acumen to align HR strategies with business goals and contribute to the company's overall success.Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple priorities while diving in where necessary to keep things moving smoothly. This role will be asked to perform a wide variety of tasks typical of a small HR team. Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information tactfully and pragmatically.Technology: Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.This is a full-time in-office role based in Calgary. Frequent travel within Canada and some travel to the US (Colorado) is required, and there is potential for occasional international travel.
