Position Description The Warehouse Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and timely management of receiving, distribution, warehousing, and expediting to manufacturing operations. The primary objective is to achieve productivity targets while maintaining the highest standards of operational efficiency within the warehouse. Initiate, coordinate, and oversee the operational aspects of receiving, warehousing, and distribution. Implement and meticulously manage a comprehensive warehouse inventory management program. Establish and rigorously enforce procedures and protocols to safeguard both the operations and contents of the warehouse. Conduct thorough cycle counts to exercise precise control over inventory levels. Uphold the physical condition of the warehouse by strategically planning and implementing new design layouts and consistently inspecting equipment. Exhibit financial stewardship by preparing and effectively managing the annual budget. Proactively schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions to achieve predetermined financial objectives. Efficiently schedule and thoughtfully assign tasks to warehouse staff. Undertake the pivotal roles of recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Provide mentorship through proactive coaching, counseling, and disciplinary measures as necessary. Diligently monitor and appraise job results ensuring operational requirements are consistently met. Maintain Product Storage Requirements (PSR) for racking and prioritize addressing nonconformance. Produce meticulous and insightful reports and statistics (including IN/OUT status reports, dead stock reports, etc.). Ensure adherence to delivery schedules for all production orders. Communicate delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight promptly and effectively to relevant parties. Strategically plan warehouse layout and space requirements to optimize utilization. Assess the need for and skillfully arrange the purchase of moving equipment such as trailers, forklifts, crash pads, dollies, etc. Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and adjust processes as necessary to prevent reoccurrence. Adhere rigorously to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements. Maintain unwavering standards of health, safety, hygiene, and security within the warehouse. Methodically manage stock control and reconcile with the data storage system. Contribute substantively to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed. Experience As the successful candidate, you will have superior communication skills, including excellent written and verbal skills with an in-depth knowledge of food industry principles, including familiarity with the HACCP system. Minimum 5 years of experience in related area A Bachelor’s Degree in logistics and supply chain management or related field Proven work experience as a Warehouse Manager, displaying a successful record of accomplishment Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases Hands-on experience with a Warehouse Management System demonstrating proficiency in its utilization Qualifications Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills Strong work ethic and positive team attitude Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills Develops best practices and ensures operational adherence to defined processing standards Proven ability to lead and supervise a dynamic team effectively Skill in developing and managing budgets to ensure financial objectives are met Adept at implementing and maintaining robust safety management protocols Demonstrated ability to develop and uphold high operational standards In-depth understanding of manufacturing and employment regulations, policies, practices, and procedures Strong knowledge of Warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Education A Bachelor’s Degree in logistics and supply chain management or related field.
