The Accounting Manager is located in Stoney Creek and will be responsible for supporting the Regional Controller with executing the accounting and financial plan in accordance with Corporate Policy. This position will provide support to the Southwest Ontario (SWO) Region, including joint ventures as well as National Service functions. Regional Responsibilities
Complete general ledger journal entries, including Month End and Year End activitiesReview coding on invoices and expense reports for accuracyPrepare financial reporting for OperationsPrepare weekly Service Division Manager report, including Safety & Training StatisticsAssist with updating annual and quarterly budget and forecast templatesOversee tax and government remittancesOversee monthly account reconciliations and bank reconciliationsAssist with general ledger accountability, overhead and recoveries monitoring, expense review and cost control, month end procedures and audit preparedness, including WSIB remittances & auditsAssist Regional Controller with fleet management and accounts receivables dutiesPerform monthly variance analysis (i.e. actual vs. budget)Work jointly with administrators & coordinators to ensure work orders and purchase orders are current and processed as per company policiesReview hourly payroll processed by Payroll AdministratorProcess Salary Payroll for Region, including T4 and T2200 DistributionResponsible for banking activities, including processing EFT’s and Banking filesAssist Controller and Division Managers with ad hoc requestsSupport and mentor AdministratorsOther duties as assignedJoint Venture Responsibilities
Responsible for month-end accounting procedures including the preparation of the first draft of financial statements for Regional Controller reviewResponsible for overseeing all Financial areas of Joint Venture, including billing, Accounts Payable and accounts receivables duties Perform monthly variance analysis (i.e. actual vs. budget)Prepare and maintain reconciliation files and working papers to support the annual review engagement by external auditors and US PartnersNational Service Operations
Generate National Service & National Account reports monthly & quarterly where requiredAssist with Standardizing month-end Service and Best Practice (BPS) proceduresAssist National Service Controller with creating Administrative Training NationallyCOMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Completion of an appropriate degree program (Accounting, Finance) from a recognized University and working towards accounting designationPreference will be given to those with an Accounting DesignationWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
3-5 years of experience in a similar role
