Candidate Profile

Reporting to the Technical Services Lead, the Network & Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the company's network, server and cloud infrastructure, as well as providing technical support to end-users. The successful candidate provides superior customer service and has excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Please note that this role is required to be on-site 5 days a week at our Toronto office.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Deploy and maintain network systems and servers

Troubleshoot and resolve user issues

Help support staff in Toronto office supporting approximately 200 employees

Offer additional remote support to approximately 550 employees in other offices across Canada

Workstation set up and user orientation

Monitor and service helpdesk tickets

Computer hardware support

Communicate with managers and staff to understand business needs, promote utilization of systems, and achieve adherence to standards

Professional Qualifications

EDUCATION
  • Diploma or Degree in IT-related studies from accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
  • Microsoft/Networking Certifications an asset
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience
  • Experience supporting CAD or Engineering software an asset
  • Experience supporting a large number of users in a fast paced environment
SKILLS
  • Microsoft desktop and server operating systems
  • Virtualisation technologies, e.g. VMware
  • Microsoft software, e.g. Office 365, Skype-for-Business, Exchange, Systems Center, Dynamics CRM
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and networking
  • Experience troubleshooting mobile devices (Tablets, Smartphones, etc.).
  • Knowledge of backup and imaging procedures and tools
  • Self-starter that works efficiently as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of business personnel and build strong working relationships
  • Analytical problem solving ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
