HGV Class 1 Driver – Southampton Area Role Overview: We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our team for ongoing, year-round positions. This is a permanent opportunity, offering consistent work for dedicated drivers in the Southampton area – not just seasonal contracts. Competitive LTD Rates: * Days (Mon-Fri): £15.50 - £16.00 p/h (Minimum 10 hours guaranteed) * Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays: £16.50 - £17.00 p/h * Nights: £19.00 p/h * Tramping: £15.50 - £16.00 p/h plus £26.00 per night out * Commuting Allowance: A minimum of £200 per month to cover travel expenses * Work on containers (DP World card required) * Ongoing work – not just seasonal! Key Responsibilities: * Ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods to various destinations. * Adhere to all road safety regulations and transport policies. * Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintain accurate logbooks. * Report any vehicle issues or defects to the transport manager. * Maintain effective communication with clients and team members. Requirements: * Minimum one year of experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver. * Valid DP World card required. * Experience in general haulage and container transport preferred. * Full UK Driving Licence with HGV Class 1 entitlement. * Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and vehicle maintenance. * Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude. * Ability to manage route planning and handle diverse types of cargo.
