We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Textiles/Food Technician to join our dedicated team at a mixed secondary school in Tonbridge. Position: Textiles/Food Technician Location: Tonbridge, Kent School: Mixed Secondary School Role Overview: As a Textiles/Food Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching staff within the Textiles and Food departments. Your expertise and assistance in preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and organized working environment will contribute significantly to students' practical learning experiences. Responsibilities: * Prepare and organize materials, tools, and equipment required for practical lessons in Textiles and Food subjects. * Provide technical support and assistance to teachers and students during practical sessions, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment. * Maintain and manage resources and equipment, conducting regular checks, and arranging repairs or replacements as needed. * Support in the setup and organization of displays, exhibitions, and events showcasing students' work within Textiles and Food disciplines. * Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and protocols. Requirements: * Relevant experience working within a Textiles or Food-related environment is desirable. * Knowledge of Textiles/Food equipment, materials, and procedures. * Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail. * Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teaching staff and students. * Commitment to upholding health and safety standards within a practical learning environment.
