With a substantial presence in all major global insurance systems, the Insurance group continues to expand its franchise in several European markets. The Global Insurance business includes over 60 analysts and staff. The EMEA insurance team covers over 100 insurers. Position Description The successful candidate will assume primary responsibility for ratings and research within the EMEA insurance sector. The role encompasses direct oversight of approximately 8 senior analysts located in London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Dubai, who are supported by rating associates. The successful candidate will also contribute to Moody's Ratings' strategic initiatives in Insurance and Private Credit within the region.This is a highly visible customer-facing role in a dynamic market. The position requires a proven business leader of high integrity, intellect, and demonstrated credit judgment to manage the business to the highest professional standards and quality. The successful candidate must be a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills in order to successfully interact with issuers, investors, regulators and the media, as well as internal leadership. Key responsibilities Lead a team of seasoned analysts and deliver on FIG's strategic priorities, ensuring insightful credit analysis, accurate ratings, and timely management of active deal flows. Maintain robust, transparent relationships with rated entities and deepen relationships with intermediaries, investors, and other market participantsOversee credit analysis of the assigned credit portfolio, addressing credit issues consistently and promptly. Continually enhance the rigor and relevance of our ratingsSpearhead initiatives to improve rating quality, operational efficiency, and enhance credit research and outreachEnhance Moody's position as the thought leader in this sector with investors, intermediaries, and issuers, and as the preferred ratings and opinion provider. Lead outreach efforts and participate in meetings with relevant market participants. Effectively communicate our opinions through transparent and robust analysisSupport Moody's Ratings' strategic initiatives in Private CreditContribute to Moody's Ratings' transformation initiatives and assume a leadership role in specified workstreams. Promote agility through transparency and alignment across the organization. Undertake and support ad hoc projects to advance the franchise and support global and regional management prioritiesDevelop and execute a talent plan. Collaborate with internal stakeholders in attracting, hiring, motivating, developing, and retaining talented staff. Provide mentoring and coaching for best practices for professional excellenceChampion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives and ensure appropriate team attendance to and engagement in DE&I events and discussionsQualifications:Credit Expertise:The ideal candidate is a seasoned market participant with exceptional credit skills, specifically within the insurance sector, and maintains deep connections within the investor communityAnalytical leadership: The successful candidate will strive for continual improvement in the methodologies, approaches and factors used in the rating process. Creative, well thought-out ideas will be expected and welcomedThought leader: The candidate should possess strategic insights into evolving market dynamics and investor needs, with good idea generation. They should be widely recognized and respected within the industryRelationship Management:The candidate should have a proven track record of reinforcing existing relationships at all levels and effectively representing the Moody's brand. The ability to identify opportunities in new markets and a customer-oriented, market-centric perspective are essentialLeadership and Communication:The successful candidate should be capable of conveying complex analytical and strategic issues to audiences of varying skill and knowledge levels, both internally and externally, through spoken and written communication. Existing market credibility is highly desirable. Experience managing a research organization recognized for leadership and best practices will be advantageous. Excellent writing skills are important, and extensive public speaking experience is a plusTalent Leadership:The candidate should have considerable experience as a people manager, motivator, and mentor, ideally within a team of credit professionalsEducation:A strong academic background equivalent to at least an MSc, CFA, or similar in relevant areas is requiredLanguage Skills:Fluency in English is crucial. Proficiency in additional European languages would be beneficialInclusive Mindset:The candidate should display openness towards diverse cultures and be willing to travel across the EMEA regionAnnual base salary gross:€137,500.00 to€226,700.00. Applicable to Lithuania candidates: The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moody's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate's qualifications, skills, and competencies. The salary is one component of Moody's total compensation package for employees.
