School Catering Manager

We're seeking an experienced Catering Manager to oversee Chartwells' catering and service operations on a part-time basis, contracted to 30 hours per week. **Job Description:** As a Catering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring our kitchens and service counters run smoothly and delivering exceptional food experiences. You will oversee all catering and service operations, manage teams, and implement action plans to drive sales and improve customer satisfaction. **Key Responsibilities:** • Prepare delicious food to the highest standards • Supervise culinary and catering teams to ensure impeccable food and customer service • Oversee the efficiency of all in-unit catering operations, including managing inventories and monitoring budgets • Communicate regularly with line managers to monitor KPIs and targets • Represent Compass Group UK&I and maintain a positive brand image • Identify opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales • Liaise between customers and culinary and service teams to exceed expectations • Support and train teams, leading from the front to ensure everyone can excel in their role • Implement and review Health & Safety standards to ensure compliance across all catering and service teams **Requirements:** • Minimum of two years of catering experience • Experience managing teams in a similar role • NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 • Basic Food Hygiene certificate • Brilliant financial acumen • Excellent communication and organisational skills • Ambitious and motivated individual who is always looking to upskill **About Chartwells:** Chartwells is the leading provider of catering and support services to the education sector.
