University Health Network- K.Y. Ho Chair in Prostate Cancer Research (Medical Oncologist), Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University Health Network The Department of Medicine in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology at the University Health Network (UHN) are seeking to recruit an energetic and innovative Medical Oncologist with expertise in Early Phase Therapeutics and Clinical Genomics. The primary focus of this position is GU cancers, and the appointed individual will hold the K.Y. Ho Chair in Prostate Cancer Research. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated passion for the medical care of cancer patients as well as a strong interest in teaching and/or quality improvement. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team in the management of patients with solid tumour malignancies and will work in collaboration with the clinical genomics and early-phase clinical trials programs within a comprehensive cancer centre setting. In addition, the candidate will be expected to engage in clinical, translational, or basic research. Other responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is the largest comprehensive program of its kind in Canada. The program is supported by outstanding institutional infrastructure, pathology, medical imaging, molecular diagnostics and clinical genomics programs and, by a wide medical and allied-health multidisciplinary team. The program supports extensive clinical, translational, and basic research initiatives including a large clinical trials program. Additionally, the Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology supports a comprehensive training program attracting both national and international fellows. The successful candidate must be a Medical Oncologist and be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher. It is expected that the candidate will be hired into one of the University of Toronto Clinician Investigator, Clinician Teacher, or Clinician Quality & Innovation tracks. For applicants being considered for appointment as a Clinician Teacher, excellence will be assessed by the presence of scholarly contributions to teaching and education as evidenced by pedagogical innovation, curriculum development, experience in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level and teaching awards. For Clinician Investigators, scholarly excellence will be assessed by the presence of research grants, publications in leading journals, invited presentations at significant conferences, awards, accolades, and other related accomplishments. The applicant must also have or be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and hold MD and FRCPC qualifications and Medical Oncology (or equivalent) specialist designation. Academic rank, salary and contractual arrangements will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. A highly attractive remuneration package is available.
