We're on the hunt for a sharp, dedicated, and experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic team. You'll play a crucial role in navigating our financial future, supporting our growth, and driving us towards ongoing success.
We’re based in Toronto and working in a hybrid model! We’re looking for someone who is located in or around the GTA with the ability to travel to our West End location for in-office team days.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • CPA accounting designation
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience post designation
  • Strong knowledge of accounting best practices, general ledger, journal entries, bookkeeping and internal controls
  • Strong knowledge of Quickbooks an asset
  • Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office 365 suite, advanced excel required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities 

The ebbs and flows of work at an agency may require you to pitch in on a variety of projects in different ways. The right candidate will embrace the diversity of this environment, and view it as an opportunity to learn and try new things. 
  • Guide and develop financial planning, budget management, policy compliance, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with our bookkeeper for daily management of QuickBooks, ensuring accurate and timely month end close including reconciliations and analysis.
  • Management and forecasting of cash flow in conjunction with maintaining rolling forecast and liaising with department leaders.
  • Prepare and present insightful financial reporting and analysis to department leads and partners.
  • Accounts Payable: collaborate with bookkeeper and business leads to ensure timely processing of vendor payments.
  • Accounts Receivable: Oversee and manage customer payment and deposit processing and invoice sending.
  • Conduct weekly AR and financial summary reports.
  • Balance Sheet Analysis/Reconciliation: Monitor assets, approving asset purchases, and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Review commission reports and ensure marketing programs are meeting their margin goals.
  • Establish a system for FTE capacity tracking, helping us understand when our team is truly at capacity and when it's time to hire.
  • Apply for grants, identify financial opportunities and operational efficiencies, providing recommendations for implementation.
  • Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
  • Contribute to special projects with executives as required.
