Job Requirements / Description
The Project Manager is responsible for monitoring and controlling the definition, planning, execution, and close out of projects, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments, and goals of the organization.ResponsibilitiesLead the project team for coordination, reporting, and on-going communication to the client department, Project Sponsor, all team members, and key stakeholders.Achieve the program objectives of the design brief.Direct and control projects, to report and forecast, to deliver the project within agreed-upon scope, cost, and time parameters, and with the defined project management methodology.Define, monitor, and control project scope, cost, schedule, quality, risk, and resources.Support the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and lead the tendering, evaluations, and contract award processes.Administer, support, and direct design consultants and contractors in accordance with the contract documents.Review and recommend invoices for payment of contracts administered.Track deliverables.Lead quality assurance.Monitor and report on project progress.Present to stakeholders reports on progress as well as problems and solutions.Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs.Evaluate and assess results of the project.Follow all GN policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.RequirementsEducation and ExperienceA post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline is considered an asset.A minimum of three (3) years of progressively challenging project management experience on large commercial and/or institutional buildings and/or civic works.Direct experience managing the development and construction of infrastructure projects.Project Management certification or registered with Project Management Institute (PMI) will be considered an asset.Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) or Architect designation of any Canadian province or territory will be considered an asset.Experience in strategic planning, risk management, and/or change management.Proficiency in project management information system (PMIS) software will be considered an asset.Management of infrastructure projects in Nunavut will be considered an asset.CompetenciesOral and written communication skills, particularly in a virtual environment.Critical thinking and problem-solving.Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities.Contract negotiation.Financial management.Conflict resolution experience.Adaptability.Able to tolerate stress.BenefitsOur compensation package is designed to attract top talent, with a salary range that reflects your skills, experience, and contributions.40 hours per week.Northern Allowance: per year, only for onsite.Community: Iqaluit.Housing: Subsidized Staff Housing is Available. #J-18808-Ljbffr
