SENIOR PLANNER - High Rise Residential LOCATION: WEST MIDLANDS (BIRMINGHAM OFFICE) The Opportunity This is an opportunity to join the Midlands regional team of an award winning national construction and development group, as a Senior Planner. This is a business delivering schemes in the Private sector, up to and around £50m in value. The Role The preparation and updating of project programmes for bid/tender and construction stages, and the regular monitoring and reporting of project progress against programme. Duties: * To ensure that the contract programmes reflect agreed supply chain requirements, including design, procurement, manufacture and installation together with any interface with other trades. * To assist in the update and revision of contract programmes due to client change/ variation or the requirement for recovery measures due to contract delay. * Regular monitoring and recording of project progress against critical path on both the client programme and DPC programme. * The preparation of progress reports, in conjunction with the Operations Director, for both external client reporting and internal contract review. Role Requirements: * Understand and utilise the Group’s management procedures for project programming and progress reporting. * Demonstrate good working knowledge of construction technology, modern construction techniques and time and resource management. * Demonstrate sound analytical and problem-solving skills. * Communicate effectively with internal and external contacts, and work as a team member. * Demonstrate ability to solve problems in a customer focused manner. * Computer literate - ability to utilise Asta Power Project, Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook and the internet as required. * Full driving licence. The Person You will possess excellent communication skills at all levels. You will be able to lead others where required. You will have an indepth working knowledge of Asta Power Project and all Microsoft Office applications. You will have relevant UK construction related qualifications. You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the UK construction industry for a main contractor in a planning role. You will have experience of project values up to £20m minimum. You will live within a commutable distance of Birmingham.
