newly created

role will join a privately owned company with a long standing and successful history in supplying a wide range of fully automated packaging equipment to the food processing sector within Australia and overseas.

The role will be based at the operation in the Shepparton area of the Goulburn Valley. This opportunity is a long term strategic position and will report directly to the CEO (and Owner). This operation has a modern manufacturing workshop, warehousing facilities, testing and research capabilities, and custom design ability. Some other equipment produced include grading and handling machinery, orchard equipment, and palletising systems. The company also supplies a large range of consumable products to the market. This business has also developed an export market, with emphasis on the US, and sees this potential marketplace as outstanding. Key Responsibilities: This is a leadership role and will manage, motivate and develop a team to achieve quality growth and develop existing business, as well as guide and assist in new business opportunities. The position will require knowledge and expertise in manufacturing engineering and will demand a working knowledge of manufacturing workshop applications, quality specifications and food industry requirements, with the clear ability to motivate and lead the management of the workshop and design team to meet customer demands. Focus and mentor the whole team on achieving targets, whether they be sales, design, logistics, production or customer service delivery. Have the ability to think outside the square and look at the big picture. Possess a hands on mentality and partake in all aspects of the business with drive and enthusiasm. A highly successful background in the food equipment industry or similar ideally with exposure to all aspects of a manufacturing engineering business. Tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline such as mechanical or electrical engineering or manufacturing. A deep understanding of the high demands of the food processing sector, and the importance of delivering quality production outcomes to specification and on time. Strong people skills with the ability to motivate and lead an experienced team. Commercially strong with experience/exposure to P&L responsibilities.
