Our client is a leading player in the oil and gas manufacturing industry, based in Fife, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality solutions to their global customer base are looking for an experienced Buyer to join the team. You will play a critical role in supporting the company’s supply chain and procurement strategy, ensuring the efficient sourcing of fabricated and machined parts to support manufacturing operations. Key responsibilities: Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing suppliers to secure the best quality and pricing for raw materials and components. Procurement: Source materials and services in line with project requirements and manufacturing schedules. Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to drive cost efficiencies and maintain competitive edge. Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels to ensure continuity of supply and manage inventory costs. Compliance: Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and industry regulations. Cost Management: Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and assess risk. Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, and logistics teams to forecast requirements and manage any supply chain disruption. Requirements: Proven track record as a Buyer, ideally within the oil and gas or manufacturing sector with the ability to understand technical drawings. Understanding of procurement and supply chain processes, with knowledge of ERP systems. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective negotiation and stakeholder management. Ability to work under pressure, troubleshoot issues, and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment. Able to work on own initiative and also part of a team
