Edelman’s Healthcare Practice is currently looking for an Account Director to join our Toronto office, to play a major role in leading integrated communications marketing campaigns, partnering with colleagues across Canada and around the globe. Reporting to the EVP, Dana Singleton, you will be responsible for the leadership and overall direction of account teams, with a focus on putting the client at the center and bringing the best team to the table. You will be responsible for staffing, training, organizational development, client service and counsel, and an eye to impact through quality. You will be able to lead all aspects of program planning and execution, while also leading and contributing to organic growth and winning new business. Most importantly, you will appreciate the importance of integrity, honesty, kindness, and the mentoring and development of those around you. While no one day is alike, you will touch upon everything from thought leadership to reputation management, stakeholder communications and influencer outreach, disease awareness campaigns and product launches, to patient and patient group engagement, while incorporating social media and digital channels into client programs. You will actively support a number of client teams in a variety of areas – whether that’s patient associations, NGOs, ministries of health, hospitals, life sciences organizations, fitness providers and wellness associations, tech firms, biopharmaceutical giants or emerging biotechs. (We also expect you to be challenged, to push yourself and your colleagues, and have fun while collaborating on programs that engage Canadians on health — their own and that of those around them — to ultimately improve outcomes). Based on your experience, you make decisions on the fly and offer a highly qualified opinion on how to translate our clients’ visions into reality. Qualifications: The right mindset and attitude, bringing your life experience, background, skills, and authentic self to a team that wants to hear from you A learning mentality and willingness to dig into new challenges – and a positive attitude to help our team and clients succeed Ideally a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related discipline from an accredited college or university 7 - 9 years of progressive experience in communications marketing in the health sector; experience in agency considered an advantage Integrated campaign experience Strategic mindset regarding key opinion leader and health influencer program development Experience developing relationships with third party organizations, healthcare professionals and caregivers And understanding of core financial constructs including revenue, profitability, pricing structures (hourly vs. retainer accounts), utilization, realization, budgeting and forecasting (but we have an amazing financial team to support you) Digital experience considered an advantage References would demonstrate you build engaged, highly qualified teams with a strong commitment to overall team success In a faced-paced, evolving, growing environment, you are the lead to setting the stage for successful outcomes for your account teams Knowledge of the Canadian regulatory environment and experience with PAAB, ASC Should you be interested in applying for this role, please submit your résumé and cover letter (optional) into Lever.
