Join CASA Mental Health in shaping a brighter future for children, youth and families by providing them with timely mental health care and empowering them to thrive.Job DetailsWage range: $43.17 - $55.39 hourlyShift structure: Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per dayPrimary location: CASA HouseUnion: In-scopeClassification: Mental Health TherapistFTE: 1.0 (36.25 hours per week)Status: Temporary (until May 2025)About the RoleCASA House is a live-in program for teens who need support with significant mental health and/or addictions challenges. Teens stay at CASA House for an average of four months. The program involves parents and caregivers as active participants in treatment. Treatment includes individual, group and family therapy, social and life skills training, and on-site schooling in small classroom settings.The Mental Health Therapist will:Conduct comprehensive bio-psycho-social mental health assessments for assigned children.Develop and implement treatment plans using a variety of treatment approaches.Formulate a diagnosis, when applicable, using the DSM V and/or other diagnostic tools as appropriate.Provide therapeutic interventions to support patients in achieving therapeutic goals, utilizing a variety of developmentally-appropriate treatment approaches including family, individual and group therapy.Facilitate psycho-educational and/or therapeutic groups for children and caregivers.Carry out case management functions, including convening case conferences and liaising with community services and other professionals involved with the child and family (especially education, social services, justice and health).Participate in the intake and discharge processes.Complete written discharge summaries.Contribute to staff knowledge and understanding of discipline-specific issues.Advocate on behalf of the child and family as appropriate.QualificationsGraduate degree in psychology, social work (with psycho-social intervention designation), occupational therapy or nursing.A minimum of two years of clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions. Experience in schools or the education system is preferred.Current registration in good standing with a professional college identified under the Health Professions Act.Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to vehicle.Conditions of EmploymentA satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
