Position: Operational Manager

Shift: Morning preferred (7:00am - 4:00pm) with 1 hour lunch
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000, dependent on experience.

As a Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and leading a team in day-to-day operations. Responsible for ensuring that the operations of the terminal running smoothly and efficiently, as you will be supervising a team of 25+ individuals. It will be important identify any opportunities of improvement. The accuracy of tracking orders and keeping cost as low as possible will be vital to this role.

Responsibilities
- Oversee operations of the call center handling freight inquiries and customer issues.Ensure timely and effective resolution of escalated calls and complaints.
- Manage communication and coordination between 6 terminals for direct line hauls.Maintain meticulous attention to detail in manifest accuracy and scheduling of pick-up and delivery times.
- Liaise with vendors and mobile mechanics for truck maintenance and repairs. Interact regularly with landlords regarding property rentals and maintenance.
- Approve drivers' trip sheets, monitor miles and hours worked, and oversee payroll processes. Lead hiring and manage direct reports including drivers, dispatchers, and dock personnel.
- Conduct joint sales calls with sales representatives and assist in customer acquisition efforts. Collaborate closely with other departments for seamless operations.
- Manage cost efficiency initiatives and ensure low-cost operations, focusing on minimizing damaged goods.
- Oversee invoicing, auditing processes, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost per mile and overtime.

Qualifications
- Requires 3-5+ years of Operational leadership experience including exhibiting leadership capabilities to handle escalated issues and ensure that day-to-day operations are running smoothly.
- Has experience overseeing a team of 30+ people (Shippers, receivers, customer service/call centre, drivers, material handlers, dispatchers ) and working with other supervisors.
- Preference to work the morning shift (7:00am - 4:00pm). Monday to Friday.
- Previous experience in logistics & trucking will be considered a plus.
-Clear and effective communication with drivers, vendors, and internal departments. Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to the team. Address customer complaints promptly and professionally.
-Thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitasking effectively to meet deadlines. Develop solutions for logistics challenges and optimize freight delivery schedules. Handle extra freight demands and ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain high standards of customer service, both internally and externally. Ensure professionalism and respect in all interactions. Manage morning deliveries and evening line hauls efficiently.
