Bring your passion for creating engaging stories about mapping and analysis to a dynamic and influential team at Esri. The product engineering writing team is looking for an experienced, creative, and hard-working writer to create reference help documentation, blog articles, videos, guides, and tutorials about ArcGIS Online, Esri’s premier cloud GIS system. In this role, you will work closely with teams across Esri to communicate and demonstrate best practices about web mapping, analysis, geospatial data, and other applied GIS workflows. We are looking for individuals who have a strong planning, problem-solving, and analytical mindset. Those who can translate complex ideas into clear and compelling messages within established deadlines are well-suited for this role.ResponsibilitiesWrite documentation in the ArcGIS help system about ArcGIS OnlineCreate blog articles, videos, guides, and tutorials for GIS practitioners that provide guidance, best practices, and applied workflows for web mapping, analysis, geospatial data, and moreCreate innovative workflows for using ArcGIS Online in various communities, programs, and industriesCollaborate with development, product marketing, product management, documentation, sales, and other teams to provide learning resources about ArcGIS OnlineContribute to additional writing projects, for example, creating resources about metadata and editing the Esri GIS DictionaryRequirementsPortfolio Submission: Writing samples of your recent work2+ years of professional writing experience related to ArcGIS Online or web GIS; ideally a blended background including technical and creative writingExposure to web-based content management systems to create and publish documentsExceptional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to translate complex concepts into clear, concise, compelling contentEffective time management and organizational skills; work proactively and volunteer assistance without being asked and under tight turnaroundDemonstrated ability to thrive in an agile environment with a fluid mix of collaborative and independent workBachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, English, or related fieldVisa sponsorship is not available for this posting.
