Additional Needs Support Assistant - Liverpool Tradewind Recruitment are working with an SEND Primary School in Liverpool who are looking to recruit some term time only Additional Needs Support Assistants. The school supports children aged 2-11 years old who have severe or profound learning and/or physical needs. Some of the children also have a diagnosis of Autism. In January 2024, the school was graded as Outstanding by Ofsted. Responsibilities: To work in collaboration with teachers as part of a professional team. Provide specialist assistance to pupils who need help to over come barriers to learning e.g. sensory, behavioural, communication, medical or physical difficulties. Contribute to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people. Implement planned activities as agreed with the teacher. Support the teacher in monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress. Requirements: Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) Be able to carry out physical intervention when necessary in accordance with the schools policies. Experience working in a challenging environment A good knowledge of ICT A DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
