ASSOCIATE LAWYER - CORPORATE/ COMMERCIAL

Position Overview We are HGA Law, a part of the HGA Group, seeking an associate lawyer with 2-5 years of experience in corporate and commercial law. Responsibilities Leverage client intelligence from other members of the HGA Group to provide strategic legal advice and recommendations, and proactively identify issues. Detail-oriented and focused on quality control. Approach issues with business sense and provide pragmatic solutions. Build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues. Focus on competent and ethical practice. Balance billable file work with firm and professional development, delivering positive value for fees. Skills and Abilities Support corporate transactions, particularly legal due diligence and the drafting and negotiation of various agreements. Support commercial real estate transactions, particularly legal due diligence and the drafting and negotiation of relevant documents. Draft and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements. Working knowledge of the Alberta Business Corporations Act and the Canada Business Corporations Act. Draft and advise on corporate and security agreements. Ability to quickly grasp supporting software tools and standardized processes. Qualifications & Education Requirements A member in good standing of the Law Society of Alberta; eligible to practice as a lawyer in Alberta. Called to the bar in 2022 or earlier.
