The Construction Coordinator is responsible for providing assistance, support, and coordination for all Construction activities on assigned projects. The Construction Coordinator will work closely with the construction teams and other team members to facilitate the successful execution of Construction processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the team members to assist and support all construction activities, including budget, schedules, contracts, change orders, purchase orders, forecasting, purchases, and warranty.
  • Assist in developing and managing project performance including cost, schedule, safety and quality standards, and sustainability requirements.
  • Assist in planning, preparation and review of tender documents.
  • Contribute to the development of appropriate procurement strategies and manage the tender process as directed by team members.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining master tracking spreadsheets for project costs, schedule, risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the development team in the creation of project reports.
  • Monitor and control construction activities to ensure compliance, schedule adherence, budgetary constraints, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Maintain and enhance business and community relationships with external parties.
  • Assigned other duties and responsibilities from time to time based on the needs of the work.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years of construction administration experience with multi-family and/or mixed-use real estate projects, ideally working in a development firm or a construction company, preferably in Metro Vancouver;
  • A high school diploma and ideally construction related post-secondary education or training;
  • Good working knowledge of the development/construction process;
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills;
  • Outstanding written and oral communications, including a strong command of the English language; and
  • Proficiency in AutoCad, Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
  • Education:
  • Post Secondary in a related field or relevant training and experience
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize; ability to problem solve and strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills, team player with strong work ethic
