Are you passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties? Do you have the experience, resilience, and dedication to make a positive impact on young lives? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a specialist SEMH school as an SEN Teaching Assistant. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to children with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, helping them to engage in learning and develop positive behaviours. Assist the class teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the specific needs of each student. Support students who have experienced trauma, offering a calm and empathetic presence in the classroom. Use strong behaviour management skills to maintain a positive and productive learning environment. Monitor and report on students' progress, working closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent support. Help students develop social and emotional skills, building their confidence and resilience. What We're Looking For: Experience working with children with SEMH needs, mental health difficulties, or trauma backgrounds is essential. Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations. A deep understanding of the impact of trauma and mental health difficulties on children's learning and behaviour. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, staff, and families. Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential. Why Join Us?
