Location: Mississauga, ON

Your role within the team:

1. Providing technical management for process design activities for a new build Nuclear Power Plant project within a matrix organization.
2. Managing individuals and teams executing commercial and internal work packages throughout the design, procurement, and construction phases of the project.
3. Approving technical documents.
4. Planning and executing work consistent with quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
5. Removing barriers that would impact deliverables to meet project requirements and priorities, working with assigned staff to find optimal solutions.
6. Participating in the preparation of commercial proposals.
7. Forecasting resource demands for the assigned work scope, including skills and capabilities.
8. Interfacing with customers and successfully delivering engineering products in accordance with specifications and contract requirements.
9. Building positive customer relationships.

The ideal candidate:

The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications and skills:

1. Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University.
2. Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, or eligible to obtain such registration within six (6) months of hiring.
3. Ten (10) years of process systems design experience in heavy industries (Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Petrochemical, Mining & Metals), including experience leading technical teams.
4. Demonstrated experience managing staff in a unionized work environment.
5. Five (5) years of CANDU technology experience is an asset.
6. Experience working in a nuclear facility licensed in Canada is an asset.
7. Thorough knowledge of all relevant ASME and CSA Codes and Standards.
8. Experience managing and/or performing multi-discipline work, with significant interfacing requirements, including licensing, safety analysis, civil/structural, electrical, and instrumentation & controls.
9. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
