Job Summary: The Research Analyst contributes to the development and implementation of the research work in the GMF Risk & Strategy Workstream through the regular production of analyses. He/She/They is involved in the drafting of policy papers and articles, as well as private memos for the public and corporate partners of GMF. The research work also includes engagement with the public, for example through additional external publications and media interventions, as well as with decision-makers and the expert community. The Research Analyst is also involved in the coordination of programmatic activities and the successful completion of deliverables. He/She/They contributes to implementing GMF’s strategic priorities through the organization of events and workshops, planning of high-level meetings with officials, and implementation of research conferences. The Research Analyst works closely with the SVP for Geostrategy and the Managing Director of the Risk & Strategy workstream for the development of new research projects in line with the priorities of GMF. He/She/They collaborates with the Program Coordinator and interns at the Paris office for the implementation of the different convening and communication activities. He/She/They also works closely with GMF’s Communication and Editorial teams for the release of written products, as well as with colleagues in the GMF’s Enterprise and Strategic Engagement Hubs, and other workstreams of the Geostrategy Hub. The tasks are carried out in the following three main functions: Contribution to the publication and media representation activities of GMF in French and English; Developing and implementing high quality research events for the Risk & Strategy workstream Supporting communication (internal and external) and promotional work; Essential Duties/Responsibilities (in order of importance): Research Conduct short-term and long-term research on topics related to transatlantic relations, geopolitics, and/or European affairs, with a particular focus on future challenges (matching with the agenda of the risk and strategy work stream) Contribute to the conceptualization of original research projects within the work stream and the Geostrategy hub Engage with the media through external publications, interviews, and other media interventions Engage with the expert community and the broader public through participation in expert workshop, high-level seminars, and panels. Contribute to private briefings and small-committee exchanges with public and corporate partners. Write articles for the GMF website and private strategic notes for GMF partners. Support and promote publications of junior staff, including support to their publications and the writing process. Programmatic and Research Development Help with the implementation of the Risk & Strategy convening and programmatic activities in Paris, and ensure completion of deliverables for each partner agreement; Coordinate the network of non-resident fellows affiliated to the Risk & Strategy workstream, and link with the editorial teams for the publications of their work; Participate in the logistical tasks necessary to the implementation of the convening activities in Paris and in Europe. 3. Communication, and Public Affairs Helping in the preparation and production of high-quality information documents and selection of information in preparation for fundraising meetings and events; Internal communication: main point of contact for Risk & Strategy with GMF’s communication, Editorial teams, and with other workstreams; liaising with GMF’s offices in Europe and Washington DC ensuring research and project collaborations. Knowledge and Skills Needed: Proven understanding of strategic challenges for the transatlantic relationship, geopolitics, and/or European affairs; Two years of professional experience in foreign policy or international relations (government, think tank, NATO, EU…) Proven experience in project management, including the management of hybrid events and managing teams across time zones Excellent command of French and English, both orally and in writing; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Strong judgment in a fast-paced environment; Organizational skills and versatility; Ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals and groups; Interest in GMF’s mission and enthusiasm for the workstream and hub’s purpose. Education: Master’s degree or preferable PhD in political science, international relations, international security, European studies, or a related field of study and experience with research of standards of social science. #J-18808-Ljbffr
