AltaGas - Sr Environmental Analyst
AltaGas is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Analyst to join our Corporate EHS Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Director, Environmental Compliance and Carbon Management in developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental programs across the organization. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of environmental regulations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
You Will:
Coordinate with Environmental teams across the AltaGas Enterprise
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to management and employees on a full spectrum of Environmental Issues
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement mitigation strategies for identified Environmental risks
Collaborate with the Director, Environmental Compliance and Carbon Management to develop and enhance corporate environmental programs
Design and implement Environmental monitoring programs to track and report on key environmental indicators
Analyze monitoring data to assess environmental performance and identify areas for improvement
Work with internal stakeholders to gather relevant data for internal and external reporting purposes.
Assist in the development and delivery of environmental training programs for employees.
Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and community stakeholders
Act as a point of contact for environmental inquiries from external parties.
Support responses to ESG questionnaires with a focus on Environmental topics, as well as AltaGas’ own ESG disclosures
Help to evolve AltaGas’ Environmental strategy and approach to Environmental disclosures
Support tracking of AltaGas’ performance against ESG goals and targets
Advise on the integration of environmental considerations into business planning and decision-making processes.
Represent AltaGas in environmental forums and industry groups.
Stay informed about emerging environmental issues and technologies to continuously improve existing programs.
Serve as a role model in areas of leadership, teamwork, continuous improvement, safety and environmental stewardship to ensure alignment with the company vision
You Have:
5+ Years experience within the energy industry. required
In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices.
Strong working knowledge of Sustainability disclosure frameworks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's Degree environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
Master's Degree Accreditation in a related professional discipline preferred
Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Environmental Professional) are a plus.
