Position: School Safeguarding Officer Location: Westminster, London Start Date: November 2024 Contract Type: Full-time, long-term Are you passionate about student welfare and safeguarding? A secondary school in Westminster is seeking an experienced School Safeguarding Officer to join their team starting in November 2024. This is an excellent opportunity to ensure the safety and well-being of young learners in a dynamic and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: Implement and maintain safeguarding policies and procedures. Offer guidance to staff, students, and parents on safeguarding issues. Conduct risk assessments and identify areas of concern. Collaborate with external agencies, including social services and the police. Deliver safeguarding training for staff members. Maintain accurate, confidential records and attend multi-agency meetings as needed.Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience in safeguarding, ideally in a school setting. Strong knowledge of current safeguarding legislation and best practices. Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, staff, and external partners. Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of making sound decisions.
