The Near North District School Board is Hiring! 1.0 Temporary Child Development Counsellor - North Region Under 90 days Effective Immediately until the return of the employee Location: North Region: North Bay, Sturgeon Falls, Mattawa and Surrounding Communities Reporting to the Mental Health Lead, this position will actively support learning readiness for “at risk” students. Qualifications: Three year Child/Adolescent Youth Worker Diploma One to two years experience in a school environmentSkills/Knowledge Required: Demonstrated experience in providing counselling related to learning readiness for students and their parents Proven ability to provide strategies and programs to assist students in dealing with social, emotional, and behavioural issues Ability to act as a liaison between community agencies, the home, the school, and the classroom teachers Ability in designing strategies to address and track social skills, time management, study habits, and other areas that effect student success Experience working with adolescent youths with behavioural and/or social/emotional issues Knowledge of and respect for Indigenous teaching and culture Additional Requirements : Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle Rate of Pay: $35.22 per hour Please ensure your have uploaded your applicable Educational Diploma(s) and/or Degree(s) to your Apply to Education Portfolio All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada The Near North District School Board is committed to supporting an inclusive and accessible environment.
