Our client is a multifaceted group of companies spanning across logging, construction and resource mangement who have continued to grow year on year & are currently looking to add to their senior leadership team.This position is responsible for development, maintenance and execution of our Partnerships & Acquisitions strategy. The position will partner with senior leadership on partnership and acquisition activities, leading all new and existing acquisition opportunities and liaising with leadership and business development in the coordination and oversight of Indigenous partnership activities. In this role you will prepare, present, and complete project plans, valuations, due diligence, and assist in the negotiations of acquisitions and partnerships. Once a target has been acquired this position will facilitate the integration process. This role is critical in enabling the acquisition lead, typically the CEO, VP Operations or General Manager, to effectively navigate acquisition and partnership activities by acting as the conduit between internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the smooth and timely flow of information and negotiations are successful.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS• This position will report directly to the VP Finance.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESProgram Development• Create the corporate development program including, performance indicators, strategic goals, policies, and procedures.• Develop and maintain Excel workbooks and financial models to facilitate the evaluation of opportunities• Develop and maintain Partnerships & Acquisition Playbook that includes guidelines, SOPs and templates to ensure consistent delivery of partnership and acquisition activities.Strategic Guidance• Partner with General Managers and Senior Leadership members assigned to acquisition and partnership targets and equip them with the information necessary to effectively negotiate acquisition and partnership opportunities.• Support development of business strategies, including scoping and structuring, formulating hypotheses, conducting research, performing analysis, developing actionable recommendations, and creating implementation plans.• Advise on financial risks and develop strategies and methods for risk mitigation during deal structuring and target negotiations.• Conduct ongoing assessments of industry and competitive landscape, identifying key industry and regulatory trends impacting the business, and associated opportunities for growth.• Partner with Business Development to establish a pipeline of potential partnership and acquisition opportunities based on strategic priorities.Project Management• Manage and execute on partnership and acquisition transactions including financial modeling, due diligence, purchase accounting, and valuation.• Modeling projectionso Forecastso IRRo Risk assessmento Coordinate reviews with controllers to assure accuracy of the Models.• Project management of the integration of acquisitions, as well as post-acquisition monitoring and follow-up on acquisition-related deliverables• Lead internal evaluation meetings for deals, facilitating decision-making in an objective, diplomatic, and effective manner.• Monitor acquisition goals and communicate performance updates to the Senior Management• Aid in the reviewing and drafting of legal documents, such as financing agreements, term sheets, etc. to ensure alignment with high-level discussions.Finance• Prepare internal consolidations for Covenant projections.• Cash flow projections impact of new opportunities.• Prepare company credit summary report.• Regular review of options for financing new and existing opportunities.• Funding identification and application for new opportunities.• Prepare quarterly covenant reporting, maintain covenant forecasting to ensure compliance.• Coordinate applications for financing where applicable.EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields such as Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration or Mathematics• Designated CPA, CBV of CFA, MBA considered an asset.• A minimum of five years of relevant work experience encompassing corporate development strategy and execution, client/stakeholder relationship management, and partnership cultivation.• Demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling, valuation, and business case building.• Experience with establishing Indigenous partnerships that aim to provide economic reconciliation for Indigenous Peoples.• Experience in Forestry, Civil construction, Management consulting are considered an asset.• Large ERP experience: Vista ERP and Insight software knowledge considered an asset.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESKnowledge• Thorough business acumen, including financial literacy.• Advanced knowledge of financial analysis.• Advanced knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, ASPE and rules and regulations.• Expert knowledge of Excel and related programs.Skills• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.• Strong change management and project management skills.• Proven time management skills and excellent attention to detail.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills.• analyze client needs and propose customized solutions.• Willingness and ability to travel as required.Professional requirements• Professional Development – 40 hours per yearWorking Conditions• This is a remote position requiring the employee to work from a home office in British Columbia or Alberta with access to stable internet.• Travel will be required to company office locations and target partnership and acquisition locations.
