We are seeking a Prototype Battery Rework Technician to join the team on a long-term ongoing contract basis at a state-of-the-art facility based in Coventry! Working to fault-find and diagnose prototype batteries to assist in the development of battery innovations for automotive models of the future, this is your opportunity to be a part of the development that will lead innovations for years to come.

Support on a weekly rotating shift pattern basis working 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm and benefit from a competitive pay rate of £32.33 per hour (paid via an FCSA accredited Umbrella PAYE provider) – overachieve and line your pockets with ample weekend overtime at increased rates of pay!!

We’re keen to speak with electrically biased individuals from all disciplines including but not limited to; EV / White Goods / Battery Build / Electrical development – Your knowledge is invaluable, and we’d love to hear from you!

What should you expect to do as a Prototype Battery Rework Technician?


  • Component Preparation:

    • Prepare battery components such as cells, modules, connectors, and enclosures for assembly.

  • Dis-assembly and Assembly:

    • Deconstruct / brake-down batteries to rework faults and issues.
    • Reconstruct batteries for repurposing within Automotive and other industries.
    • Utilise working knowledge of build processes including torque settings and build techniques.

  • Quality Control and Testing:

    • Perform quality checks to ensure adherence to standards and specifications.
    • Perform functional tests on completed battery backs to verify performance and safety.
    • Fault-find, Identify and address any defects, non-conformities or discrepancies.

  • Troubleshooting:

    • Diagnose and resolve issues related to battery assembly, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, or safety concerns.

  • Documentation:

    • Maintain detailed records of disassembly and assembly processes, test results, and any modifications made during prototype builds.

  • SafetyCompliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and proper handling of hazardous materials.


The nice to have’s which will help you excel in a Prototype Battery Rework Technician position:


  • Qualified Senior Authorised Person (SAP) highly desired. Training may be offered to those who possess a relevant background within an Electrical industry.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or previous experience within a mechanical and electrical position with a desire to learn and develop.
  • Working knowledge of specialist tools such as millimetres or gantry cranes
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.

Pay: £32.33ph to be paid via Umbrella PAYE. Overtime paid at increased rates of pay.
