Senior Electrical Design Engineer Up to £60,000 Birmingham Benefits Company events Company pension 25 Days Annual Leave Health & wellbeing programme Life insurance Sick pay About the role The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will play a key role in the hands-on design and oversight of the electrical aspects of the product. They will be responsible for implementing de-risking strategies and design validation techniques to ensure the solution is fit for purpose, fully compliant with technical and legislative standards, and optimised for manufacturability. Additionally, the engineer will be capable of thoroughly analysing the functionality and suitability of design solutions, ensuring alignment with specified requirements. Experience/ Qualifications Create detailed electrical drawings using Solidworks Electrical or E-Plan, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BoM), to support the detailed design and transition to manufacturing. Generate necessary design documentation to validate and justify the design for the project, including performance calculations, test plans, material and component selection justifications, etc. Ensure the electrical design meets all technical requirements and complies with the customer's specifications, particularly in terms of safety and legislative standards. Document the technical compliance of the electrical design with customer specifications, ensuring adherence to safety and legislative requirements. Collaborate with mechanical engineers to develop a fully integrated design solution. Adhere to the design process, ensuring that all design mitigations and approvals are obtained at the appropriate stages.
