Senior AutoCAD Designer – Land Development

This detail-oriented person would be a highly motivated leader who has strong organizational and time management skills, and possess the ability to generate and design various engineering drawings. The successful candidate will possess the ability to utilize software programs such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D, while mentoring and overseeing other drafters.Job Responsibilities:Prepare civil engineering drawings utilizing AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3DComplete Site Plan and Plan of Subdivision design calculations, grading design, and servicing design utilizing AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3DCheck and verify design drawings to ensure conformance with engineering design specificationsPrepare earthworks calculations and quantity takeoffsHelp establish and maintain AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D standards within the engineering departmentProvide oversight of other AutoCAD operators and act as a mentor as neededLead the continuous training of other AutoCAD draftersManage the workflow between designers/project managers and other AutoCAD draftersOther duties as assigned by managerCandidate Requirements:Graduate of a recognized University or College in a related discipline5 -10 years of experience in a professional engineering environment that has utilized AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3DKnowledge of surfaces, grading, earthworks, and pipe networks is considered essentialExceptional leadership skills and experience in a Project Management role, overseeing others and managing workloadsFamiliar with engineering design standards as they relate to land developmentAbility to multi-taskExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentAbility to supervise others and efficiently manage workloadsVan Harten Surveying offers a variety of benefits, which include:Extended health careDental coveragePension planAnnual bonusWellness programEducation programStaff social eventsSalary range: $105,000.00 - $120,000.00 per yearAccommodations for job applicants with disabilities are available upon request.We thank all applicants for their interest and ensure complete confidentiality.
