The center will increase the company’s capacity for technological and scientific innovation necessary to meet its strategic objectives (decarbonization, digitalization…), while generating profitability and ensuring high visibility on the Group’s commitment to the industry’s energy transition. It will rely on strategic industrial and academic partners experts in the maritime industry (laboratories, companies, startups, shipyards, etc.). CMA Ships, a subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, covers all facets of the maritime business: from the fleet management of the vessels to that of the crew members. CMA Ships is also a team of experts responsible for implementing innovative solutions and making CMA CGM vessels more energy efficient. YOUR ROLE Global Operations Efficiency is a transverse operational organization with various monitoring and advisory responsibilities on all operational challenges within CMA CGM Group. Within this organization, the Deputy Manager focuses on worldwide ports and terminals performance, to the benefit of CMA CGM Group Lines. The main missions of his/her Department consist of: Collecting terminal specification data and maintaining associated database; Benchmarking terminal performances and carrying out operational reviews; Gathering information on port and terminal incidents, investments, and infrastructure projects; Recommending optimized vessel sequences and anticipating contingencies in critical hubs; Leading studies and recommending routing adjustments to Lines and Procurement; Developing and promoting operational tools and processes within Group Operations teams in Head Office, Regional Offices, and Agencies; Providing on-site training to foster skills and core model alignment of worldwide Operations teams. As part of his/her role as Deputy Manager for the wider Global Operations Efficiency Department, he/she acts as the ambassador of the Department and its Vice President in various instances such as Management Meetings or Steering Committees, and any other projects requiring the Department’s expertise. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? Manage and promote several teams of Operations Experts and Specialists, based either in Head Office or within the Agency network; Federate Leaders of Lines, Assets, and fellow Departments on any strategic topic aimed at reducing the Group’s exposure to OPEX and operations-related compliance risk; Promote Dynamic Procurement initiatives towards Regional Office and Agency network; Meet with Ports and Terminals delegations and seek optimal service level for CMA CGM Group operated vessels towards our Vendors; Elaborate operational targets and monitor application of Operational Performance Agreements; Develop tools related to port operations costs and performance monitoring, for the benefit of worldwide Group users; Participate in industry-wide associations (such as SMDG or DCSA) and development projects (such as Onshore Power Supply) to foster Group’s strategy towards digitalization and decarbonation; Hold additional transverse roles dictated by the Group strategy, such as Data Sponsor or Transformation Catalyst; As a Deputy to the Department’s Vice President, federate the various teams under Global Operations Efficiency Department and foster constant teamwork between the teams. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Recommended qualifications: 5 years experience in Shipping Lines operations and/or Terminal management. Master in Applied Economics or Master in Transport & Logistics or equivalent (M2 level). Able to interact with Executive Management and tackle strategic topics under short deadlines. Able to analyze and evaluate complex interactions. Trouble-shooter and problem-solver, keen on conflict resolution. Fluent in Business English, fluent in French. Experience managing large teams. Demonstrated Leadership. Former seafarer a plus. Legal training a plus. Negotiation skills a plus. Come along on CMA CGM’s adventure!
