Job Title:                    Product Representative/Outside Sales RepresentativeDepartment:             Sales/MarketingReports to:                VP of Sales and MarketingFLSA Status:           ExemptSUMMARY  Promotes and sells products for manufacturer to architects, contractors, distributors, and other professionals involved in the design and construction of buildings.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.Identifies prospective customers for use as sales leads, by compiling lists from various sources, such as Reed Connect, Sugar (ATAS CRM system – Customer Relationship Management database), Anzio (contains both our current and inactive customer lists), business directories, industry advertisements, trade shows, internet websites, and other varied sources.Travels throughout the assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to obtain orders, as well as communicates with customers by phone and email.Displays or demonstrates products, using samples, binders, literature, ATAS website, etc., and emphasizes features that provide value to the customer/prospect.Negotiates and quotes prices to customers, along with the inside sales support staff at ATAS. Ensures that notes on prices quoted are captured in the CRM.Estimates date of delivery to customer, along with the inside sales support people at ATAS, based on knowledge of estimated production time and delivery schedules.Provides technical service and support to customers as needed.Daily call reporting is done by phone in call report information to a voicemail message box. Information will be retrieved by others and entered into the CRM. Product Rep is able to edit call report notes, and add to them, as needed.Prepares weekly expense report every Friday and submits completed reports to Accounts Payable.Communicates with inside sales support reps to keep account activities up to date and to resolve any customer concerns and/ or complaints.Transmittal request information is given to inside sales support rep for processing; including requests for samples and literature.Promotes customer training and seminars in territory, which are held at corporate headquarters.Promotes potential customer training sessions held at a contractor’s or distributor’s office, within territory. Enters new customer data and other sales data for current and prospective customers into CRM. This in addition to the daily call in reporting.Develops and maintains relationships with current and prospective customers on a regular basis.Investigates and resolves customer problems in the territory, as needed.Attends industry association and distributor product shows in the territory. Attends national trade shows to represent company upon request of National Sales Manager.A requirement sales calls per month, consisting with a targeted mix of 50% contractors, 25% architects and 25% distributors. The amount is determined by your manager and discussed throughout the year. Follows up on quotations, and enters follow up notes into CRM, to help ensure sales of material for specified projects.Microsoft Outlook calendars are used and maintained, which are shared with sales and management team.Submits photos of projects and project data to Marketing, for a minimum of three projects per quarter. Photos are used for advertising, brochures, website, etc.Conducts AIA/CES (American Institute of Architects/Continuing Education System) educational presentations, to architects, specification writers and engineers. A minimum for 5 per year (20 per quarter) is a requirement. (Example; Lunch & Learns)Conducts an educational presentation to a contractor’s or distributor’s staff. Requirement of one per quarter.Attends trade association meetings/events AIA, CSI, USGBC, contractor’s associations, etc.), for the purposes of networking and continuing education.
