Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA)

Job Duties

  • Work with the WITT (Women in Trades and Technology) facilitator to coordinate and implement WITT programs.
  • Provide instruction in programs as required.
  • Build relationships with and deliver presentations to students, program heads, instructors, community partners, and school divisions.
  • Provide campus WITT communications through media relations, social media etc.
  • Provide appropriate documentation and follow-up reports.
  • Provide guidance and advice to girls and women in respect to women in careers in trades or technology.
  • Some travel required. Some evening and weekend work required.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Specific Accountabilities

Duties

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Completion of a journeyperson certificate in a recognized trade and/or recognized technology diploma or degree.
  • Two years’ recent and relevant work experience (within the last five years).
  • Familiarity with WITT philosophy and operations.
  • Ability to work with girls and women in a structured/non-structured setting.
  • Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
  • Effective instructional ability.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills.
  • Training and/or experience in the use of common software packages, i.e. MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
