Transgrid is delivering the Federal and State Government's vision for a clean energy future, building the transmission super-highway which will transform the energy supply for millions of Australians. New renewable generation is being built across the eastern seaboard and will connect to the grid to get that electricity to market. Our major projects are a priority for Governments and for the nation. The integration of renewables will secure and strengthen the electricity network and enable greater sharing between NSW, ACT, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland. The purpose of the Contract Administrator is to support world-class commercial management. The role will initially provide commercial support to Delivery Contracts within $5 billion HumeLink project. The Contract Administrator will play a crucial role in managing and administering Delivery Contracts, ensuring comprehensive control and monitoring of all project costs. This position supports the Project Team, encompassing both commercial and delivery resources, to drive the successful completion of the Project on behalf of Transgrid. The role demands a high level of expertise in contract administration, cost management, and project controls, contributing significantly to the project's overall success. As

Contract Administrator

you will: Assist in the preparation, review, and management of contracts, professional services contracts, and procurement documents. Support the administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions. Review, challenge and validate the Contractor’s cost plan, ensuring that the cost plan is current and reflects all developments in the project including engagement of subcontractors, contingency draw down and design development. Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, cash flow and financial reports. Support the development and maintenance of project schedules and timelines. Assist in the monitoring of project progress and performance against baseline schedules. Engage with Delivery Partners, Contractors, Suppliers, and Stakeholders, Foster effective communication and coordination among all parties involved, ensuring alignment with project goals and requirements. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (Security of Payments Act), regulations, and industry standards. Actively seek guidance and mentorship from senior team members and collaborate with peers to share knowledge and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Skills & Experience Tertiary qualified in quantity surveying, construction management, civil engineering, or related field. Relevant experience in site engineering, contract administration, quantity surveying, or project controls within the construction industry. Understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and project controls. Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office Suite. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in contract and cost management. Ability to work effectively within a team and independently. Strong organisational and time management skills. Ability to interpret and apply contract terms and conditions. Good interpersonal and negotiation skills. Experience in managing payment claims and reimbursable contracts and payments. Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., AIQS, RICS). Knowledge of local construction regulations and standards. Experience with construction management software (e.g., TeamBinder).
