We build scalable, secure blockchain-enabled solutions that supercharge fan experiences using digital assets. $CHZis the native digital token for the Chiliz sports & entertainment ecosystem currently powering Socios.com and the Chiliz Chain blockchain. Socios.comis a fan engagement and rewards app that allows fans to engage with their favourite teams and clubs through digital assets known as Fan Tokens. THE ROLE Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Backend Software Engineer to join our team of talented developers that share a common interest in microservices backend systems, their scalability, and continued development. You will be part of the team responsible for building the systems that power our Chiliz platform. While this is an individual contributor role, as a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team, you’ll be involved in many aspects, helping evolve our existing architecture and implementing new features and functionality. Responsibilities & Duties: Develop, deploy and operate PHP-written microservices. Build server-side REST APIs. Build reliable and resilient software for fintech environments. Anticipate scalability and performance issues. Ensure code quality through tests, in accordance with good practices; Participate in code reviews. Be a force of technical and functional proposals. Backend Technologies: Stack: PHP 8 / Symfony 6.3 PostgreSQL / Clickhouse Amazon SQS (event queue) Kong Gateway Redis Environment: Gitlab / GitLab CI Docker / Kubernetes Linux Who we think will be a great fit… We’re looking for someone who is self-driven, eager to learn new things, with a proactive approach to work, a sharp sense of quality and reliability. You like technical challenges and want to participate in the construction of a sustainable product that is addressed to the whole world. You also meet most of the following requirements: You are a team player. You have effective communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to receive constructive feedback. You have at least 2 years of recent hands-on coding and software design in backend development. More experienced profiles are welcome, you won’t get bored! You like technical challenges. You find satisfaction in a job well done and you care about quality. You know what it means to ship high-quality code covering all edge cases. You enjoy looking "under the hood", and like to dig into code to understand how it works. You have good knowledge, or you want to learn the following areas: API, system design with a Product Owner, design pattern, data structure, caching strategies. You are willing to learn new technologies, but you have experience with PHP, Symfony (or any modern PHP frameworks), relational SQL databases. You have excellent writing and communication skills in the English language.
