Procurement Manager

RoleOverview:The Procurement Manager reportingto the Director of Supply Chain is responsible for leading thePurchasing Planning and Logistics departments at our Scarboroughlocation. This fulltime position offers an excellent opportunity todevelop essential procurement and supply chain management skills.The role focuses on managing procurement processes developing andimplementing strategies and collaborating with internal andexternal stakeholders to ensure the efficient and costeffectiveflow of goods and services. KeyResponsibilities:Supply Chain Management (ProcurementPlanning and Logistics):Collaborate with the Director of Supply Chainto oversee the of the overall procurementstrategy.Lead procurement activities developplans monitor KPIs and work with internal and external stakeholdersto ensure alignment.Establish minimum andeconomic order quantities (MOQs and EOQs) for vendors based ondemand cost and storage constraints.Negotiateand manage commodity contracts to secure optimalagreements.Regularly evaluate vendorperformance and optimize buying parameters to improve servicelevels reduce waste and maintain appropriate inventorylevels.Implement costeffective procurementstrategies to drive longterm savings.Build andnurture strong supplier relationships ensuring favorable contractterms while maintaining a positiverapport.Track and compare purchase costs withhistorical data and budgets.Manage itemcreation in the ERP system handle RFPs and identify potential newsuppliers. WarehouseManagement: Supportinventory management processes identify slowmoving materials andmitigate risks associated with perishableitems.Collaborate with the warehouse team toenforce stringent controls on the receipt and inventory ofmaterials.Finance:Negotiate payment terms discounts and rebateswith vendors.Ensure accurate reflection oftotal landed costs including purchase price freight duties andother associated costs in pricingmodels.Maintain oversight ofprocurementrelated accounts payable andreceivable. QualityAssurance: Support thevetting and onboarding of new suppliers ensuring compliance withinternal policies and standards.Assist inresolving material quality issues whether directly purchased orcustomersupplied.CommercialResponsibilities:Drive strategic sourcing for new materials incommercial projects.Align commodity contractswith key customer contacts ensuring consistency andtransparency.
