Join a team engaged in empowering robotic surgery, the new medical revolution.About Robotics Engineer:As a Robotics Engineer, you will join a highly motivated and excellent team of engineers that research, design, and implement state-of-the-art robotic control algorithms, applied to compact form-factor manipulators.These algorithms are used for bimanual telemanipulation by the surgeons and are specially focused on enhancing their dexterity, accuracy, precision, and comfort, while ensuring their patient safety.TasksParticipate actively in the requirements specification, prototyping, design, development, test specification, and verification of the system's motion and safety-related software.Lead the development, verification, and validation of novel robotic algorithms for control of the manipulators and surgical instruments in motion and/or force.Design, prototype in the lab, implement and validate plant and control models for robotic manipulators and wristed instruments.Strongly drive the collaboration with the mechatronics teams to simulate, pre-test, and co-design new kinematics and robotic components.Give active support to the development of test benches for algorithm and system verification. This concerns mechanical, electronics, and software components.Improve the system performance by proposing and conducting experimental studies on design improvements (architecture, technology, state-of-the-art algorithms).Understand and comply with medical device regulations. This concerns design control, risk management, defect management, and change management processes.Be actively involved in usability engineering & human factors studies.Be actively involved in cross-functional complaints investigations, CAPA, and root cause analysis.Requirements:At least 5 years of relevant experience in control systems (linear, nonlinear, optimal, robust, adaptive control) and software development in the field of robotics.Experience with manipulator dynamics modelling (Euler-Lagrange, Newton-Euler, Featherstone, etc).Experience with multi-task inverse differential kinematics control of a manipulator (floating-base / underactuated systems is a plus).Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for real-time control and data processing.Experience with robotics toolkits (MathWorks Robotics Toolbox, ROS/ROS2, Gazebo, etc).Experience with partial sensing techniques (Kalman filters, Particle filters, etc.).Experience with human-robot interaction (Hand-guiding, impedance/admittance control, series elastic actuators control, etc.).Experience with software static test analysis, unit testing methods, model-based design, hardware-in-the-loop, and rapid control-prototyping approaches.Experience with design of experiments or statistical analysis (factor analysis, ANOVA, paired t-test, non-parametric methods, etc.) is a plus.Experience with development under medical device regulations (IEC 62304) and working within an ISO 13485 certified QMS is a plus.Proven capacity to work in teams, propose and debate solutions, as well as excellent communication of work results.Professional oral and written skills in English.Benefits:Opportunity to work in a fast-growing company active in one of the most promising fields of medicine.A dynamic atmosphere in an internationally minded environment.Permanent contract with 25 days of paid vacation.Benefit from one to two days per week working remotely to boost flexibility.Attractive talent development programs and initiatives empowering employees to enhance their skills and fostering professional development growth.Mobility plan, competitive company pension plan, support for gym memberships.Regular team building events such as boot camps, skiing, and much more.Distalmotion is an equal opportunity employer.
