Description The Human Resources Director works under the Executive Director to oversee the day-to-day management of all employees working with the Yellowknife Women’s Society. The Human Resource Director is responsible for the management, employee training and support as well as hiring and onboarding of employees for the organization. The position is based in Yellowknife, NWT. Responsibilities · Ensure that management and staff are adhering to human resources policies, procedures, and applicable employment legislation (NT Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Act). · Support full-cycle recruitment process including the posting of job ads, applicant screening, assisting with · interviews and assisting the department manager with the hiring and onboarding process. · Coordinate new employee onboarding, ensure necessary onboarding paperwork is completed. · Administer benefit programs including enrollment, employee updates and inquiries. · Provide administrative support for HR related tasks such as preparing reports, HR inquiries and data. · Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on human resources policies, procedures and best practices. · Support employee development and training initiatives, including identifying training needs, coordinating training programs and evaluating effectiveness. · Manage employee relations, including addressing employee concerns. · Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records. · Ensure compliance with employment regulations. · Stay informed about human resources trends and best practices to provide proactive recommendations and continuous improvement of the human resources process; and · Other duties, as required. Qualifications · Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management or related field (or equivalent experience). · 1 - 2 year’s experience working as an HR Administrator, HR Coordinator or HR Director. . Must be able to plan, recommend, develop, and administer operating objectives, policies, programs, and procedures. · Must work well independently. · Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. · Strong interpersonal and communication skills. · Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. · Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. · Must be physically able to work on a computer for up to 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. · Familiar with Non-profit governance models is an asset . Updated criminal records check clearance is required This is a term position until March 31 2025, with possible extension.
