General Manager

Our client is a dynamic Industrial Distribution company with a considerable network and infrastructure throughout the Canadian and US marketplace. As the senior manager for the region, working out of the company’s Edmonton location, the General Manager will have full P&L responsibility for the region and management team responsibility, safety, customer service, and operations. Key Responsibilities : The key responsibilities for this position will be broken down into three primary areas: Safety, Business Leadership, and Operations Instill a safety first culture throughout the organization Accountable for leading profitable business growth in the region and achievement of annual targets Accountable for budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators Required to present business results, including variances to plan and action plans to improve performance Develop a strong relationship team and maintain a high level of service. Resolve complex customer service issues in a timely fashion Lead reward and role model the desired business operating culture Ensure the establishment and achievement of annual regional operations objectives Champion a culture of continuous improvement to improve productivity, asset utilization, and cost improvement Work collaboratively with corporate support functions to ensure compliance with corporate processes, policies, and procedures Qualifications: Post-secondary degree and 5-7+ years’ experience in a senior leadership role Strong business acumen and financial management skills Strong financial understanding and ability to run a complete regional P&L including capital budgeting and asset management A strong business presence complemented by resourcefulness, sound business judgement, customer focus, and a bias for action Proven track-record of successfully leading a team (customer service, and logistics operations) in a safe and profitable manner Excellent customer service and negotiation skills Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally across teams A motivated team member with effective communication and organizational skills Bruce Proctor Job ID E17789 City Edmonton, AB Remuneration Remuneration for this position will consists of a base salary of $125K, company bonuses, full benefits and RRSP matching.
